At TIMBERplus, our customers are the most meaningful part of our culture. Taking care of them and finding ways to prevent inconveniences its very important for us.
With that in mind, we have seen an increase of ways fraudulent emails in different industries try to get payments diverted to their accounts. For instance, a while ago we learnt about an incident happening to one of our customers. The email with the invoice was intercepted by the scammer, who changed the bank details to his benefit and the amount was paid to his account. Unfortunately, this is very difficult to prevent, by the supplier as well as for the customer, since the email and the invoice seemed valid.
In order to prevent for the future, we plan to add a digital signature to invoices created with TIMBERplus. This signature will act as a security seal, once its broken the receiver will know and should not pay it.
In the meantime, we recommend to add this additional information to your invoices:
Banking information is listed on all invoices.
ANY CHANGE IN THE BANKING INFORMATION NEEDS TO BE VERBALLY VERIFIED WITH US
